“Home is everything to me. The comfort of it, the safety and smells of it, are everything. I grew up in a home deeply impoverished. Food was scarce and with 8 mouths to feed it was a frenzy when we actually had food in the house. What we had was Jesus. We were taught to make a home in our hearts as children, for him to live in. In all of my childhood trauma that one valid reality was everything. I wanted the fireplace of my heart always burning for the Lord. As a traveling artist coming back to a warm home was what I created in my adulthood.
