“Home is everything to me. The comfort of it, the safety and smells of it, are everything. I grew up in a home deeply impoverished. Food was scarce and with 8 mouths to feed it was a frenzy when we actually had food in the house. What we had was Jesus. We were taught to make a home in our hearts as children, for him to live in. In all of my childhood trauma that one valid reality was everything. I wanted the fireplace of my heart always burning for the Lord. As a traveling artist coming back to a warm home was what I created in my adulthood.

Lyrics: Home by Rita Springer

Verse 1
I found the place
I long to be
Safe in Your arms
I’m dropping my guard
Where patience waits
Where love redeems
O my soul
Where else would I go?

Pre-Chorus
You hem me in, You hold me tight
Even the dark to You is light

Chorus
You take all my pieces and parts
‘Cause You built a door to my heart
You are a home for me
I’ll give all of my questions and reasons
All of my hope to believe that
You are a home to me

Verse 2
You are my search
The treasure found
Strength of my hope
Oh, where else would I go?

Bridge 1
Everywhere I go that’s where I find You
Everywhere I go that’s where You are

Bridge 2
Everywhere I go that’s where I find You
Everywhere I go that’s where You are
