Lyrics: He Got a Hold of Me by Ben Fuller

They said stand up on the stage kid
Sing a song and play the part
They’ll sing you back the praises
You desire in your heart
They said grab ahold the good life
Yeah, you can have it all
But they don’t ever warn ya
How far you gotta fall
I was face down
But I see it now

It was at the end of myself
When I cried out for help
It was in the wandering lost
When I stumbled to the cross
And at the lowest place
I met the highest name
Broken and left crawling on my knees
He got a hold of me
Jesus
He got a hold of me
Jesus

Well I went and built a kingdom
Yeah I did it on my own
But that kind of house won’t stand up
If it don’t have a cornerstone
I had to watch it crumble
Come crashing to the ground
Laying underneath the rubble
Is where the Truth is found

At the end of myself
When I cried out for help
It was in the wondering lost
When I stumbled to the cross
And at the lowest place
I met the highest name
Broken and left crawling on my knees
He got a hold of me
Jesus
He got a hold of me
Jesus

Oh yeah
Grabbed a hold (grabbed a hold) of His hand
But He grabbed a hold (hold) of my heart
I didn’t know (When He said) when He said He’s finished
That’s where my life would start
That’s where my life would start

It was at the end of myself
When I cried out for help
It was in the wondering lost
When I stumbled to the cross
And at the lowest place
I met the highest name (highest name)
Broken and left crawling on my knees
He got a hold of me
Jesus
He got a hold of me
Jesus
Yeah he got a hold of me
Jesus
He got a hold of me
Jesus
He got a hold of me
