Lyrics for “REJOICE” by Cory Asbury

Gratefulness opens the door
Where grumbling had it locked before
So I silence the muttering
I just start uttering
Praise from the depths of my heart

For every hurt, a harvest
For all my pain, a promise
In all of the suffering
You’ve been uncovering
Gold that’s refined in the fire
So I’ll sing in the midst of the fire

Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say rejoice!
Be glad, my soul! And put your hope in the Lord!

Though I’m battered and beaten
Every bruise has a meaning
If my heart’s still beating and I’m still breathing
Ain’t nothin’ that could hinder my praise

For every tear, a memory
For every trial, a crown
When before You I’m standing
I won’t be empty-handed
I’ll have somethin’ to lay at your feet
A reward for all of your suffering

Rejoice! Rejoice! And again I say rejoice!
Be glad, my soul! And put your hope in the Lord!

I die to live
and lose to gain
In weeping then I’ll laugh again
Hope will never disappoint

This world’s gonna cause you some trouble
That is a promise, my friend
He gave thanks before the cross
So we’ll thank Him in the loss
‘Cuz what matters can’t be taken away
Yeah, this world is fading anyway
